Just riding along

Rode to Idaho City Friday night and it went even better than the last trip up with more bags and stuff. Got a losing lottery ticket and a winner of an Ice Cream sandwich. I don't usually eat them but on these long rides in the heat they are a well deserved treat.

Saturday tried to fix the outside hydrant it is not fixed but it wasn't leaking either. Watched a lot of the Olympics and cleaned the shop. Yea I have needed to do that for a really long time. Late in the afternoon I rode the KLX to Bogus Basin just to make sure I knew which road to take on Sunday. I found it and it is a great route not the easy way to get to Boise but, very scenic. Paula had the camera in Montana so if you need to see what it looks like. Ride all over the place and it looks just like this , trees, sagebrush, oh pretty flower, sand, four wheeler, and oh look another hill. I like the IMBA slogan "long live long rides" or is it "live long because of long rides" ? Either way go ride till your tired eat Ice cream sandwiches and ride some more!

Another Sojourn

I have been riding the crap out of the Raleigh Sojourn this year. It's the heaviest bike I own and most people I know don't get it. I have loaded the bike and hauled a trailer loads that would break their 15 lb wonder bikes. I have had several different tyres on it touring tyres of various sizes 35 mm cyclocross etc and I haven't had a problem yet. I plan on getting some studded tyres for the winter and also some 42mm. At this point I have about 1500 miles on it and we have ordered another one for Paula. We are hoping to do some over night this fall and this bike will handle the gear and pulling the dog trailer.

Other things keeping me and most people I know busy are the Olympics. Was up late last night watching Kristen Armstrong win the time trial. I started the Thursday night time trial behind her a few years ago she is very pleasant and fast. The company I work for AceCo made the little chain keeper arm for her. Cool little project.

Plan on riding to Idaho city Friday night and SS mt bike on Saturday. Sunday Paula suggested I ride over to Horseshoe Bend and then to Boise I may do that. I am leaning on cutting off at Harris creek summit and going to Bogus then home. More updates later!
