Wet ride

Rode 32 miles today in a real downpour. Really wanted to ride more but my new winter shoes are not waterproof and although I was wearing wool socks my feet were freezing. Didn't take any pictures as I forgot the camera just as well they don't like the rain. Did learn that my front bag keeps most water out but with the amount today all the items in the side bags were soaked. I also found a one led bike light could be useful. Mostly I rode the greenbelt they have plowed most of it some sections were really sketchy. It was a nice ride not a lot of folks out.

More of the same

Another weekend of snow removal and snow shoeing. We got about another foot of snow so we just broke trail on the same routs as last week. Saw a couple of snowmobiles apparently they didn't read the sign that said no motorized vehicles. They were a little lost and asked for directions. I was nice and pointed them in the right direction. Afterwards I realized that I my directions were right but I don't really think they could get there as it is a really steep ATV trail in the summer. Course if they were smart they would snowshoe or ski anyway.

Commuting

The purchase of the studded tyres was more for entertainment. The have proved to be quite use full this week for commuting. I discovered that I have to leave a little early as they are a little heavy and slow. I have them mounted on the titus now as the old specialized is being sold. Have to part with a few bikes this year to get new ones. I will probably sell the redline SS as well. Not sure what 29er will replace them but as of today it will be the specialized stumpjumper. The bike looks right to me and so far seems to be the best value. It also has sliding dropouts for an easy SS conversion.

Snowshoeing this past weekend was great as the snow has settled a bit. We will have to go up this weekend and clear out the driveway. Maybe I will remember to shoot some pictures. That means I will have to remember the camera and batteries.
